This one is for my Big Mac Burger lovers! If you love a Big Mac, you are going to go nuts over these nachos. They have everything right down to the pickles and it’s such a fun and delicious way to switch up your nacho game.
Over the past couple of years, I have been making Big Mac inspired dishes in my kitchen, one of them being a Big Mac Salad, which is absolutely one of my favourite things to make! Anyways, I had a huge bag of Costco torilla chips that I needed to get rid of but I was also craving a Big Mac, so I came up with the idea of making Big Mac inspired nachos and they did not disappoint! I’ve made this thousand island dressing a few different ways, one of them which uses a plain nonfat greek yogurt, (which if you are looking to reduce the calories of this dish, that would be a recommendation of mine and honestly the taste is still really great). However, mayo is mayo and there is almost no replacement for it LOL. So, this recipe does call for mayo but again, feel free to swap this for a plain greek yogurt if you are looking to reduce the fat/calories of this recipe.
Have you ever noticed that the actual burger patty in a Big Mac is really not that flavourful? Everything else on the burger is what makes it so delicious; like the pickles, lettuce and then of course the sauce. So I kept the ground beef in this recipe really simple by using some garlic powder, onion powder, and then a little bit of salt to really get the full vibe of a Big Mac.

My tips before getting started
So the first thing I’ll say is that this is a lot of thousand island dressing as you can see from the recipe below. I use this recipe for 4-5 adults so please keep that in mind. If you are making this for more than just two people I would recommend using the recipe below. However, if you are looking at just making this for two people, I would say to cut the thousand island dressing recipe in half. This is definitely a forgiving recipe, so add more of what you want at the end when you give it a taste.
Substitutions & FAQ’s
I’ve tried this recipe with ground turkey and it’s still really good and a great option for someone who doesn’t eat ground beef or is looking for a leaner meat alternative.
I chose to put the lettuce and pickles on at the very end because I felt like it gave the nachos a really nice crunch and I would recommend doing it this way. Although, if you want to bake the pickles with the cheese and beef, that could be good, it’s just a preference thing here!
Lastly, I would recommend chopping your onions really really fine in both the thousand island dressing and for the topping. If you think about a Big Mac, the onions in the burger are always chopped so fine, so this is an important step!

Notes
*If you have extra dressing, don’t worry this keeps good in the fridge for 5-7 days and works great on burgers or salads.

Made this tonight and they were amazing. I made the recipe for 4 people and it was definitely enough for everyone.
Just be aware you are going to get SO much dressing if you follow the thousand island dressing posted here. I would recommend only making half the recipe for the dressing unless your plan to use it for other meals throughout the week. Btw it does taste just like Big Mac sauce. So good and it was everything I hoped it would be. Thank you for an awesome recipe. Will be saving this and making again!
Thank you for this review! I agree with everything you said! Very happy you enjoyed it, I worked hard to ensure it had the Big Mac affect so I am glad it paid off ๐
Sooooo delicious!! Recently made tortilla burgers that were big mac inspired and tried this since I had to kick my habit of McDonald’s. This was amazingggg
Lina, I feel ya on the McDonalds. So bad, but soooo dang good LOL. Glad you enjoyed them!
These were amazing!! A big hit with my kids. I found the recipe made more sauce than needed but I will 1000% make these again!
Hi Stacey! Yes, we are big sauce people. I think somewhere in the post I indicate that! If I have leftovers I just put it in the fridge and use it on Big Mac salads during the week. Thank you for leaving a review, it means so much to me!!
What kind of pickles do you recommend for this? Thanks! ๐
Hi Becka, I used the Bucks dill pickles for this recipe.
Made this tonight and the whole family loved it! It made plenty for myself, husband, and 2 kids. We love thousand island sauce so weโll be using the leftovers throughout the week.
