Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 28, 2026

sammymontgoms.com wants everyone who visits to feel welcome and to find the experience enjoyable. We are committed to making our website accessible to people with disabilities, in line with our values and applicable law.

Our site includes recipes, blog posts, images, embedded media, forms, comments, and third-party integrations such as advertising and our Cook Club membership. This statement explains our approach.

Our Accessibility Goal

We strive to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA for the portions of the website that we directly control. WCAG 2.2 is the current international standard most often referenced for digital accessibility.

We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a one-time achievement, that full conformance at all times may not always be feasible as technology and standards evolve, and that standards and legal requirements differ between jurisdictions and continue to change.

While we make good-faith efforts to improve accessibility, we do not guarantee that every part of the site will be fully accessible in all situations, browsers, or with all assistive technologies.

Scope: What We Control and What We Don’t

This statement applies to:

  • Our primary website pages at sammymontgoms.com
  • Content and features we create and maintain directly, such as recipes, blog posts, images, and pages we produce

This statement does not apply to:

  • Third-party tools, platforms, and integrations, including our advertising network, analytics providers, consent management tool, embedded video, and our Cook Club membership platform
  • User-generated content, such as comments and recipe reviews
  • Third-party websites linked from our site

We choose vendors with accessibility in mind where we can and encourage them to improve, but we do not control their code, updates, or practices and cannot guarantee their accessibility.

Known Limitations

Some content or features may not fully meet WCAG guidelines, particularly:

  • Recipe images and step photos that lack detailed alternative text, since we prioritize new content and high-traffic recipes
  • Embedded video or media from third parties that may lack captions or transcripts
  • Advertising units served by our ad network, which we do not author or control
  • Older posts published before our current accessibility efforts
  • Downloadable files without full accessibility tagging

We are working to improve accessibility in new content, in our most-visited recipe pages, and in core site features, within reasonable technical and business constraints.

Ongoing Efforts

We review the areas we control using automated accessibility checking tools and periodic manual checks, with attention to:

  • Keyboard navigation and visible focus indicators
  • Colour contrast and text readability
  • Heading structure and semantic markup
  • Form labels, error messages, and alternative text for images

When a barrier is identified or reported in an area we control, we aim to address it promptly.

Alternative Access

If a disability makes it difficult for you to access a recipe, a page, or any feature of this site, please get in touch. We’re glad to provide the same information another way, for example sending a recipe in a plain-text or large-print format.

Accessibility Feedback

We welcome your input, it genuinely helps us improve. If you run into an accessibility problem, please reach out through our contact form or email us at he***@***********ms.com, with as much detail as you can share: the page URL, what you were trying to do, the browser or assistive technology you were using, and a screenshot if that’s easy.

We aim to respond to accessibility-related inquiries within five (5) to seven (7) business days.
