Buffalo Chicken Dip Substitutions & FAQ’s
What type of chicken is best for this recipe?
You can make my Buffalo Chicken Dip using a rotisserie chicken where you remove the skin and use two forks to achieve small pieces. You can also poach chicken breasts or simply buy canned chicken.
Can I use blue cheese dressing in place of ranch dressing?
You sure can, and its delicious.
What is the best buffalo hot sauce to use in this recipe?
My favourite is Franks Red Buffalo Hot sauce.
Can I make this ahead of time?
Yes! Which is why this makes for such a great appetizer when entertaining. Simply assemble everything and let it sit in your fridge, covered, until your guests arrive. Add it to your oven when you are ready to serve.
Can I freeze this recipe?
I don’t recommend freezing this recipe as the cream cheese and ranch don’t particularly freeze well and really alter the texture of the dish.
What is best to serve on the side of this dip?
Tortilla chips, takis, celery, carrots and crackers.
