If you grew up eating Rice Krispie squares at every school bake sale, potluck, and holiday party, you already know the magic of a good marshmallow treat. But swap out the puffed rice for Golden Grahams and you get something possibly even better. These Marshmallow Graham Squares have that same chewy, gooey pull you love, except now there’s this warm, toasty, slightly honeyed crunch underneath.

What makes these different from every other marshmallow square you’ve had is that Golden Grahams don’t just add crunch—they also add flavour. That warm, toasty, lightly cinnamon-sweet taste soaks into the marshmallow and turns a basic three-ingredient treat into something you won’t be able to stop eating. Want more easy no-bake desserts? 😍 Why You’ll Love These Marshmallow Graham Squares
Golden Grahams really change the game: these takes this from basic treat to super addictive.
Three ingredients, one pot: all it takes is butter, marshmallows, and cereal to make these marshmallow treats.
No oven required: all you have to do to make these marshmallow graham squares is melt, mix, press, and wait.
Universally loved: kids go absolutely wild for these, but adults will love them too!
🍫 Ingredients You’ll Need for Marshmallow Graham Squares
Butter: salted butter adds just enough richness and a hint of savouriness that keeps these from being cloyingly sweet. It also helps the mixture release cleanly from the pot.
Large marshmallows: melt down into a smooth, stretchy, glossy mixture that binds everything together.
Golden Grahams cereal: these are slightly sweet, faintly cinnamon-y, and sturdy enough to hold their shape in the final square without going completely soft.
✔ How To Make Marshmallow Graham Squares
Prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper and setting it aside.
Bring a large pot to low heat and add your butter.
Once the butter is melted, add your marshmallows. Stir constantly until the marshmallows are fully melted, smooth, and lump-free.
Remove the pot from the heat and quickly add your Golden Grahams cereal. Stir thoroughly to coat all the cereal with the melted marshmallow mixture.
Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking pan. Using the back of a spatula or your fingers, press the cereal mixture down evenly into the pan.
Allow it to cool on the counter for 30 to 40 minutes, or until fully set. Alternately refrigerate for 20 minutes. Slice and enjoy.

🗒 Variations
Chocolate drizzle: melt a handful of chocolate chips and drizzle it over the top before the squares fully set.
Brown butter: swap regular melted butter for brown butter for a deeper, nuttier flavour that pairs well with the toasty Graham taste.
Peanut butter swirl: stir a couple tablespoons of peanut butter into the marshmallow mixture right before adding the cereal for a salty, nutty twist.
🗒 Substitutions
Cereal: Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes, or Cheerios all work if you can’t find Golden Grahams, though you will lose some of that signature flavour. Fruity Pebbles make a fun, colourful version for kids.
Marshmallows: mini marshmallows melt a little faster than large ones if that’s what you have on hand. Use the same weight.
🍴 Leftovers? Lucky You.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. They’re best the day they’re made when everything is still chewy and fresh, but they hold up pretty well.
🤔 FAQ’S
Can I double the recipe?
Definitely! Just use a 9×13-inch pan instead of the 8×8 and press the mixture down evenly. Everything else stays the same.
Why are my squares too soft and not holding together?
They probably just need more time to set. Give them the full 30 to 40 minutes at room temperature.
Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes, these are a great make-ahead treat. Make them the night before, leave them covered at room temperature, and they’ll be perfectly set and ready to slice by morning.
Do I have to use salted butter?
Salted is recommended because it balances out the sweetness, but unsalted works fine too—just add a small pinch of salt to the pot when the butter melts.
My mixture hardened before I could press it into the pan — what happened?
Marshmallow mixture sets fast, especially once it’s off the heat. Next time, have your pan lined and ready before you even turn on the burner, and work as quickly as you can once the cereal goes in.
