What are Batch Espresso Martinis?
These are no different than any other batch cocktail. Made in larger quantities, they are cocktails made in advance, allowing you to serve multiple at once. Making them ideal for holiday get-togethers, parties and gatherings. If you are looking to save time mixing drinks, batch cocktails are the way to go, and I promise this espresso martini will not disappoint.
Ingredients to make Batch Espresso Martinis
Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make these:
- Vodka: opt for something higher quality such as: Grey Goose, Titos or Belvedere.
- Kahlúa: you can swap for another type of coffee liquor, such as Tia Maria.
- Espresso: I am using the Cuisinart Grind & Brew Single Serve Coffeemaker to make my espresso.
- Brown sugar + water: to make a brown sugar simple syrup which adds a delicious sweetness and nuttiness.
Pro tips
I have put together a few quick tips to ensure you get the most delicious Batch Espresso Martinis.
- Begin by brewing the espresso and allow it to cool for 15-20 minutes.
- Prepare the brown sugar simple syrup. This will give the martini a much needed sweetness. Although, these will also work with agave or your sweetener of choice.
- Shake for at least 45 seconds! This will give the martinis a nice creamy foam which will hold the espresso bean.
When should I serve these?
Anytime! Whenever you are in the mood for something both energizing and indulgent, these Batch Espresso Martinis are the perfect go-to.
FAQ’s answered
How do you get the frothy foam on the top?
By using a fresh espresso. Fresh espresso will create a beautiful crema which will give your martini a frothy top.
Will instant coffee work in place of espresso?
Because these cocktails taste best with a frothy foam on the top, I don’t recommend using instant coffee.

Can I use instant espresso
I haven’t tried it with instant espresso so I am not confident, typically freshly brewed is best. If you don’t have an espresso machine, I know some people go through a drive-thru and grab a few when they mix these up! Hope this helps. -Sammy
Could I make these the night before?
I recommend making the day of! Just the ensure the coffee doesn’t take bitter or flat.
